The Rock Island Memory Wall is an effort to pay tribute to those who made the Rock Island Railroad such an important part of the history of Fairbury, Nebraska, and to those who have helped make history come alive through the restoration of the historic depot as a railroad museum.

Located in the garden at the Rock Island Depot Railroad Museum, the wall lists many Rock Island employees, patrons who have donated to the restoration of the historic depot and as a memorial to those who have died. All proceeds from the sale of the bricks have gone to building restoration and maintenance.

In 2003, a brick sidewalk and courtyard were added to the area to allow easy access and a place to sit and reflect.

You may continue this effort by purchasing a brick.

Each brick may contain three lines of information, with up to 16 characters on each line. The cost of the brick is $100 for one line, and $5 additional for each additional line, making the cost of a brick with three lines of type $110. To order a brick, click on the single brick, print out the order form, then fill in all appropriate spaces and send to: Jefferson County Historical Society, Inc., 910 Bacon Rd., Fairbury, NE 68352.
